Biography
Having graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2008, I completed the Foundation Programme in the South Thames Deanery.
My Core Surgical Training Programme was undertaken in Wales with 18 months of Plastic Surgery and a further 18 months between Vascular (General) Surgery, Neurosurgery and Trauma & Orthopaedics, before Junior Registrar posts in Plastic Surgery rotating through the Bristol, Swansea and Bradford units. During this time I obtained an MSc in Trauma Surgery, cementing a passion which has influenced my future career.
My Higher Surgical Training in Plastic Surgery was completed throughout the Yorkshire Deanery where I trained with experts in Bradford, Hull, Sheffield, Wakefield and Leeds. The region is renowned for its training in, and delivery of Hand Surgery, Lower Limb Reconstruction and Microsurgery.
Following successfully completing the FRCS(Plast) I won one of the five nationally awarded TIG Fellowships in Major Trauma Leadership (the first Plastic Surgeon to complete this prestigious programme) secured between the respected Sheffield Adult and Children’s Major Trauma Centre’s.
Further fellowship training with the Leeds Sarcoma Surgery and Lower Limb Reconstruction teams prepared me for a Locum Consultant Plastic Surgical post in General Plastic Surgery before my current appointment as a Substantive Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Outside of work, my time is fully engaged between my family and friends.
