Overview of Apprenticeship Levels
- Level 2 - Intermediate Apprenticeship:
- Equivalent to: GCSEs (Grades 4-9).
- Duration: Typically 12-18 months.
- Focus: Provides foundational skills and knowledge for entry-level positions.
- Types of Apprenticeships undertaken at this level at LTHTR: Healthcare Support Worker, Pharmacy Services Assistant, Customer Service Practitioner
- Level 3 - Advanced Apprenticeship:
- Equivalent to: A Levels or T Levels.
- Duration: Usually lasts up to two years.
- Focus: Offers deeper training and is often a stepping stone to higher apprenticeships.
- Types of Apprenticeships undertaken at this level at LTHTR: Business Administrator, Senior Healthcare Support Worker, Laboratory Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Healthcare Engineering Specialist Technician, Science Manufacturing Technician
- Level 4 - Higher Apprenticeship:
- Equivalent to: First year of an undergraduate degree or a foundation degree.
- Duration: Varies, typically 1-2 years.
- Focus: Combines work experience with further education, allowing apprentices to gain advanced skills without incurring student debt.
- Types of Apprenticeships undertaken at this level at LTHTR: Associate Project Manager, Data Analyst, Engineering Manufacturing Technician, Facilities Manager, Healthcare Science Associate
- Level 5 - Higher Apprenticeship:
- Equivalent to: Foundation degree or higher national diploma.
- Duration: Similar to Level 4, often 1-2 years.
- Focus: Provides specialised training in a specific field, preparing apprentices for more advanced roles.
- Types of Apprenticeships undertaken at this level at LTHTR: Assistant Practitioner, Nursing Associate, Health Play Specialist, Operations Manager, Learning and Skills Teacher
- Level 6 - Degree Apprenticeship:
- Equivalent to: Bachelor’s degree.
- Duration: Typically 3-4 years.
- Focus: Allows apprentices to work towards a full degree while gaining practical experience in their chosen field.
- Types of Apprenticeships undertaken at this level at LTHTR: Chartered Manager, Biomedical Scientist, Diagnostic Radiographer, Dietician, Healthcare Science Practitioner, Midwife, Occupational Therapist, Physio Therapist, Project Manager, Senior and Head of Facilities Manager, Speech and Laguage Therapist, Therapeutic Radiographer
- Level 7 - Master’s Degree Apprenticeship:
- Equivalent to: Master’s degree.
- Duration: Usually 1-2 years.
- Focus: Designed for those looking to advance their skills to a postgraduate level while working in a professional environment.
