At Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS trust we are proud to have registered with the Hidden Disabilities scheme.
We have sunflower lanyards and wristbands available for our patients who have a disability that may not be visible to everyone else but this will indicate to us that they may need some additional support.
We understand not all disabilities are visible – some are hidden and not immediately obvious, such as learning difficulties, mental health as well as mobility, speech, visual or hearing impairments. Living with a hidden disability can make daily life a little more demanding for many people, but it can be difficult for others to identify, acknowledge or understand the challenges you face.
Patients can collect their sunflower lanyards or wristbands from our general offices and some reception areas, please ask a member of staff if you are unsure.
Your lanyard or wristband will indicate to us that you may need addition support or extra time when coming into our hospital. Our staff may enquire how they can help further.
We do also understand that not everyone will need additional help, however we are happy to do so if it is needed.
When visiting our hospitals if you require a lanyard, face mask exemption card or a wristband you can collect these from our General offices
