Information for trans patients
We know that accessing healthcare can occasionally be daunting, and that this can be especially true for some trans and gender-diverse patients. With this in mind, we would like to reassure our patients regarding a few of our policies:
- Our staff will respect your pronouns and will make every effort to ensure our records reflect them
- Where it is necessary for your treatment for us to know your sex assigned at birth this will be treated respectfully and in the strictest confidence
- If you need to stay on one of our wards your self-identified gender will be respected. This includes if you identify as neither male nor female where we will discuss your preferences with you.
- We have added sanitary bins to several male toilet areas and are working towards creating more gender-neutral facilities
