Meet our latest award winners!
We know our staff are fantastic but it's always great to see others recognising them too! Here's the latest news on our national award-winning shining stars:
Non-Midwife Contribution to Midwifery Practice: BJM Awards 2017
Our Community Maternity Support Worker, Patricia Leyland, has won a prestigious national award for being a real asset to our hospitals' maternity service and community over the past 18 years. Patricia began working in our Chorley site Birth Centre in 1999 as a means of support for midwifery clinics and postnatal visits; in 2009, she expanded her role into one of a more difficult nature, offering help to pregnant women, expectant couples, and new mothers with mental health issues, child protection cases, alcohol and drug addiction, social problems and learning difficulties.
Silver Innovation Award
Our Ideas and Innovation Facilitator, Dr. Kina Bennett, has won a regional award for her patienty-safety-improving innovations. The Silver Innovation Award recognises her committment as an 'Innovation Scout'(a role in which she shares best practice and promotes innovation programmes) and commends her collaborative work on improving patient safety across several departments and wards.
We believe that our staff should be rewarded for their achievements year round, no matter how big or small. Sometimes, we just simply want to say thank you to our staff for being invaluable members of the team, which is why we hold our own awards within our organisation, so that nobody goes unnoticed.
