Biography
Tracey qualified as a therapeutic radiographer in 1998 having trained at the University of Liverpool with her clinical placement being spent at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. She commenced her career at the Cookridge hospital in Leeds and then worked at the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre, before relocating back up north and settling at the Rosemere Cancer Centre at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals in 2001. During her career she has held many different roles including pre-treatment team leader and on treatment review radiographer but in April 2015 was appointed as a Macmillan Consultant Radiographer specialising in prostate cancer. More recently she was appointed as the Oncology Clinical Director in Preston.
In 2004 she developed the radiographer led review service at Rosemere which is now embedded in everyday clinical practice. She completed her MSc Radiotherapy and Oncology at Sheffield Hallam University in 2010 and has completed the supplementary prescribing non-medical prescribing and conversion to independent prescribing courses accredited by the University of Cumbria.
She is a member of the SCoR Consultant Radiographers Group, an associate member of the British Uro-Oncology Group and has won numerous awards for clinical leadership and service delivery. She was awarded a Macmillan Fellowship in Nov 2018.
She is active in research particularly those that involved radiotherapy and innovation.
Patients are at the heart of everything that Tracey does and she feels passionate about the professional development of radiographers and how this translates to an enhanced service user experience.
