Specialist Interests
I have a special interest in Lung Cancer, as well as palliative care in patients with advanced respiratory disease, both malignant and non-malignant. I am also interested in pulmonary vascular disease and recently established a specialist clinic at RPH for patients with Pulmonary Embolism.
Research
During my specialist training I completed a research MD looking at the role for palliative care in patients with Pulmonary Hypertension. I have presented this work at a national and international level, and continue to work closely with the Pulmonary Hypertension association (PHA UK) to develop patient education and support in this area.
In addition to my clinical and research interests I am also actively involved in Undergraduate and Postgraduate Education.

Biography
I graduated from Newcastle University in 2007 and subsequently undertook post-graduate training in the Northern deanery, completing specialist training in Respiratory and General Internal Medicine (GIM) in 2018. During my Specialty Training I also completed a research MD in Pulmonary Hypertension and palliative care as well as a certificate in palliative care for specialty trainees.
On completion of specialist training in 2018 I worked as a Respiratory Consultant at Sunderland Royal Hospital. Following this I moved to Royal Preston Hospital in 2019 where I currently work as a Respiratory Consultant on the respiratory ward (Ward 23) and the Respiratory High Care Unit. My sub-specialist interests include Lung Cancer, palliative care and Pulmonary Embolism.
