Preston North End took time out from their Championship promotion push to make their annual Christmas visit to the Children's Ward at Royal Preston Hospital on Tuesday.
Ahead of Saturday's clash with Norwich City at Deepdale, which begins a packed Festive schedule, North End lifted spirits among patients, families and staff as they posed for pictures and handed out club calendars, EFL sticker books and selection boxes.
The squad, including captain Ben Whiteman, Thierry Small, Lewis Dobbin, Michael Smith and Stefan Thordarson, travelled over from their Euxton training base to bring some festive cheer to those in hospital at what should be a happy and joyful time.
Striker Smith said: "I have a five-year-old, a three-year-old and a four-month-old, and it makes you appreciate how lucky you are that they are healthy.
"It's hard to see the children in hospital around this time of year, so it was great to come in and put a smile on their faces.
"If we can help cheer them up and bring them a bit of chocolate and stuff, it's a bonus."
Emily Jolly from the ward's Play Team, added: "We’re so grateful to Preston for making their annual visit - they went above and beyond to spend time with the children on the ward. They made sure everyone got a picture or a gift, even going back around so no one was missed!
"It’s a lovely experience for the children and their families, and a morale boost for the staff too."
