Blackburn with Darwen, Blackpool and Lancashire Health and Wellbeing Boards have a statutory duty to assess the pharmacy needs of their local populations. This is known as a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA).
The PNA describes:
The pharmacy services currently available in each area maps showing where pharmaceutical services are provided information about pharmacy providers in neighbouring areas any gaps in current provision and likely future needs opportunities for local pharmacies to offer public health services.
Every Health and Wellbeing Board must update its PNA every three years, in line with national regulations. The 2025 PNA has now been drafted, and your views are invited as part of a formal consultation.
We welcome feedback from local organisations, professionals and residents to help ensure that pharmacy services meet the needs of our communities now and in the future.
Consultation period:
Tuesday 1 July to Sunday 31 August 2025
