The drop-in blood clinics at Preston and Chorley hospitals are currently prioritising only clinically urgent tests for patients as a result of reduced staffing.
These urgent clinics will be available between 8.30am and 12.30pm, Monday – Friday, from Wednesday 11th November.
You should only attend one of these hospital clinics for a blood test if your doctor or consultant has instructed you that it is urgent and appropriate to do so. Please only attend if you have been told to.
If you require a blood test which is not urgent and your doctor or clinician feels you do not need to attend the hospital for this then you should book an appointment at one of the community clinics available across Preston, Chorley or South Ribble. You can book a blood test at a local community clinic by telephone. Please visit www.lscft.nhs.uk/Phlebotomy to obtain the relevant clinic contact details.
If you are required to visit the hospital clinic for an urgent test then please continue to socially distance from others and wear a face mask whilst at the hospital. Only the patient requiring the blood test should enter the clinic unless assistance is required by a carer or relative for the duration.
If the waiting area is busy then you may be asked to leave and return at another time. This is to help reduce overcrowding and keep you and others safe from any risk of coronavirus infection.
