Pop-up Covid-19 vaccination clinic to be held at Preston North End vs Swansea City match

As a show of Preston North End Football Club’s support for the NHS Covid-19 vaccination programme, the Club will host a pop-up Covid-19 vaccination clinic for fans at Deepdale Stadium during their upcoming match versus Swansea City this weekend.

Supported by the Lancashire and South Cumbria Health and Care Partnership and NHS Greater Preston Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), working in collaboration with the Preston North Primary Care Network (PCN), the Covid-19 vaccines will be offered to the general public, delivered from a mobile vaccination bus parked within the grounds.

The mobile clinic will operate on Saturday 28th August from 11:00am to 5:15pm from the car park at Deepdale Stadium, next to the Splash Statue. First dose Pfizer vaccinations will be available to those aged 16 and over and second dose Pfizer vaccinations will also be provided to those aged 18 and over who have already had their first dose over 8 weeks ago. You don’t need an appointment, you can simply walk-in!

The event follows similar pop-up vaccination events held recently at Blackpool Football Club and Burnley Football Club.

A spokesperson for Preston North End Football Club said:

“Preston North End are delighted to be able to host a pop-up clinic at Deepdale at this weekend’s game.

“We hope it provides an accessible and convenient chance for supporters of both the Lilywhites, and our visitors Swansea City, to be able to get a first or second dose of the vaccine while attending the game.”

Dr Zak Patel, Clinical Director, the Preston North Primary Care Network (PCN) said:

“We are incredibly proud to be able to offer a mobile Covid-19 vaccination clinic in a place that is convenient and accessible, for footballers and fans alike.

“Whether you’re looking forward to getting back to spending time with family and friends, planning your next holiday or counting down the days until your favourite festival, the vaccine will help keep you and those around you safe.

“So, if you’re eligible but have not yet taken up the offer, or are due your second dose, come and visit our walk-in clinic at Deepdale Stadium this weekend. There’s also a wide range of walk-in Covid-19 vaccination clinics across Lancashire and South Cumbria, with many offering evening and weekend appointments, to make it as easy as possible for you to get your jab”.
