Generous staff at Barton Grange Landscapes have donated a Christmas tree to brighten up the Critical Care department for staff at Royal Preston Hospital this festive season.
The company, based at Barton, near Preston, donates a Christmas tree to the department every year.
This year, with visiting to the department restricted, the company has installed a tree outside in a spot visible to staff during breaks.
Karen Hatch, Clinical Business Manager at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said:
“This generous donation will lift the spirits of staff at the end of an extraordinarily challenging and difficult year.
“The staff here, like lots of others, are under extreme pressure and Christmas is the time of year we want to bring everyone together. This team is a family and we wanted our family to be able to celebrate Christmas together.
“We’re so grateful to the team at Barton Grange Landscapes for making the donation and taking the time to visit us to install and decorate the tree.”
Peter Topping, Managing Director at Barton Grange Landscapes, said:
“We are always pleased to be able to support the local community and the NHS staff deserve particular attention at this time, having worked so hard during the pandemic. We hope that they can see the light at the end of the tunnel now, but assure them that we won't forget what they have done for us all.”
In addition to the Christmas tree donated by Barton Grange, the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity has purchased four other Christmas trees to spread some festive cheer across both Preston and Chorley hospital sites.
