Preston’s DJ Slug to host a six hour virtual charity party for Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity

A Preston-based entertainer will host a six-hour virtual charity party online to raise funds for Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity.

Stuart Singleton, aka DJ Slug, is a children’s entertainer who has been hosting virtual disco parties for children since the start of the year to help those who are struggling during the lockdown.

A keen fundraiser throughout his lifetime, Stuart has raised more than £25,000 for both local and national charities.

Inspired by the efforts of frontline NHS staff, Stuart wants to give back to his local NHS trust and has pledged his support to Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity, whose fundraising efforts have been impacted by the pandemic.

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity helps to raise vital funds to ensure Royal Preston and Chorley and South Ribble Hospitals are equipped with the very latest in technology, enabling vital research and making patients and their families more comfortable.

The action-packed event has received the support of several entertainers, all of whom are putting on the show free of charge, but have set-up a Just Giving page here, with all funds raised going to Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity.

The entertainment starts from 5.45 pm on Saturday 27th February and will feature a mini-disco; a glow stick story dedicated to NHS staff; a street dance performance from Tegan Hardman and Ethan Castle; performances from singers Caitlin Banister, Callie Allen, and Just Giorge ; a live R&B DJ set by DJ Raf and a close-up magic show from Magician Jason Rae.

Stuart Singleton, who will host the charitable event, said: “Since starting DJ Slug’s virtual mini discos  for families on YouTube six weeks ago, I decided it would be the perfect opportunity to say thank you for all the support the NHS has shown our community throughout the pandemic. Please take this opportunity to have a fun-filled, virtual family party night and help us raise money for a fantastic charity.”

Fundraising Coordinator, Roya Armstrong, at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity, said: “We are so grateful to have received the support of Stuart and all those taking part in the virtual charity party. It sounds like it’s going to be a fantastic virtual event and we encourage as many people as possible to join in the fun, whilst raising important funds for their local NHS Charity.  All donations received will go towards our Staff Wellbeing fund to help create restful areas and a place of comfort for our heroic staff to recuperate after working long and intense shifts.”

DJ Slug will be hosting his virtual charity party which is suitable for all ages live on his YouTube page: DJ SLUGS VIRTUAL MINI DISCO - YouTube
