Cross Bay Walk!

Morecambe Bay

Join us again this year for one of the region’s most stunning strolls to raise vital funds for Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity!

Enjoy breath-taking views across the beautiful Morecambe Bay alongside our community of charity supporters on this ever-popular 6-7 mile (approximate) walk across the sands, raising funds for charity projects across Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Led by the King’s Guide, Michael Wilson, this 3-4 hour walk returns this summer with limited places, so book now! Setting off from Arnside and crossing the bay to Grange-over-Sands, you’ll experience the thrill of one of the region’s most stunning walks.

There is parking available in Grange and we do provide a coach from Grange train station on the morning of the walk at a cost of £6, to take you to the start line at Arnside. Please note that this MUST be booked in advance here. Alternatively, you can park at Arnside and get your own transport back to your car at the end; we recommend the regular public train.

A fun event whatever the weather, the famous Cross Bay Walk could involve some wading through water, which means that unfortunately it isn’t suitable for those with limited mobility, wheelchairs, pushchairs, or very small children, but we do have other events coming up soon that will be! Click here for more information.

We would love for you to help raise as much as you can in sponsorship. The money raised, however small or large, will make a huge difference, so please visit www.justgiving.com/lancashireteachinghospitals to set up your online fundraising page or click here to download our sponsorship form.

Places are limited so don’t wait to book yours. Register with us today and enjoy a breath-taking walk surrounded by our incredible hospital charity community this summer.

We can’t wait to see you there!

If you have any questions please contact our charity team on 01772 528500 or e-mail charity@lthtr.nhs.uk

Important Information

This event is highly weather dependent and due to changes in weather our team keep updated with walking conditions on the trail and surrounding area. Unfortunately this means there is a possibility the event may be cancelled at short notice.

Our guide Michael makes the final decision on whether the walk goes ahead via a weather assessment on the evening of before the event . If the walk has been postponed due to bad weather, we will update our social media channel and send out an email to the address given at time of booking.

• Please check Lancashire Teaching Hospital’s Charity Facebook and Twitter pages which will be updated regularly.

• Please check your email inbox and junk mail in the days before the event as this is how we will let you know of any changes or cancellations.

If the walk is cancelled due to the tides or weather, we will seek an alternative date to complete the walk. If this is not possible, a refund will be offered to all participants.
