Take on the challenge of walking the 21-mile Preston Guild Wheel route in aid of Motor Neurone Disease this September.
The team at Lancashire and South Cumbria Motor Neurone Disease Care and Research Centre at Royal Preston Hospital, organises a sponsored walk every year, with proceeds split between Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity and the MND Association. Since the event was launched in 2015, it has raised around £70,000 for the two charities.
The Guild Wheel was chosen as the route for the first time in 2021.
Funds are used to support people living with MND in the Lancashire and South Cumbria area, as well as local and national research.
MND Nurse Specialist Julie Sala says: “As a small team we are all extremely passionate about the wraparound care and support we provide for our patients and their families. This support begins at diagnosis and continues as the disease progresses.
We need your help and support, so please come, and join us and let’s make this the best year ever. You can sign up for the full walk or just a part of it. If walking’s not for you then, please sponsor us!”
Money raised for the hospital charity through the walk will be ring-fenced for the Care and Research Centre at Royal Preston Hospital.
