Transylvania Trek 2027

Do you fancy a challenge you can really sink your teeth into?

We’re delighted to announce an additional date for our Transylvania Trek 2027!

Due to the popularity of the trek, we’ve added a second trek option from 2nd – 8th October 2027.

The trek will follow the same incredible itinerary, taking you through the stunning Transylvanian Alps, ending at the iconic Bran Castle.

Choose your preferred date:

? 25th September – 1st October 2027
or
? 2nd – 8th October 2027

Both dates offer the same unforgettable trekking experience – just choose the week that works best for you!

Along with our Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity and Rosemere colleagues, we will be undertaking a multi-day hike along winding woodland paths, across alpine grasslands, and over rugged mountain landscapes in the stunning Transylvanian Alps. Ending at the historic, iconic Bran Castle, you’ll gain a unique insight into local Romanian culture and discover the legend of Dracula as well as experiencing the stunning Carpathian views – and you’ll be helping to raise vital funds in support of Baby Beat.

Taking place from the 25th September to the 1st October and organised by The Different Travel Company (ATOL no. 6706), our trekkers will be accompanied by professional, first-aid trained, English-speaking local guides who have an excellent knowledge of hiking in the region.

Please note that this tour is classified as ‘challenging’  – walkers will be required to have a good general level of fitness. You’ll have to carry your own gear (your backpack could weigh 10-12kg including water), the terrain can be hilly and rough, and of course there’s always the chance of inclement weather! The accommodation will be a mix of guest houses, mountain huts, and hotels.

Pricing:

Our Trekkers will need to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £375 at the time of booking. You’ll then have the option of self funding your trip (our preferred option) or raising sponsorship to cover it.

Self Funding: This option is for those who choose to pay the trip costs themselves while still raising some funds for us. You will need to pay the £1,275 trip costs* by 3 July 2027, and we ask you to strive to raise a minimum of £1,000 in sponsorship for your challenge.

(*NB the final trip costs are based on the overall group size and are subject to change)

Sponsorship option: This option is for those who wish to raise sponsorship to cover both the costs of the trip and their charitable donation. To select this option, you must raise a minimum of £2,550.

You’ll need to raise 80% of this minimum sponsorship (£2,040) by 3 July 2027. The remaining 20% (£510) must be paid by the date of departure.

What your payment includes:

  • Return flights from Manchester
  • Transfers and transport in Romania
  • Accommodation
  • All meals as specified
  • Trekking permits
  • Local guides
  • Different Travel UK tour manager

Thank you to Leyland Beds and Furniture for their kind support of this challenge!
