Group photoThe fantastic achievements of staff and teams from across Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust were recognised at a glittering awards ceremony last week.

The Trust proudly hosted their highly-anticipated Our People Awards on Friday night at Imperial Banqueting Suite, Preston.

The event, hosted by BBC Radio Lancashire's Graham Liver, was a heartfelt tribute to the compassion, dedication, and innovation shown by colleagues across the Trust. With 499 nominations, the evening spotlighted 31 exceptional finalists, culminating in 10 award category winners and six new Special Recognition Award recipients.

The Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Our People Awards had categories recognising and celebrating excellence in patient care, innovation, and the outstanding contribution made by colleagues across the Trust in several specialty areas. Nominations for the awards are made by LTH colleagues.

The ceremony also honoured the Trust’s Long Service Award winners, recognising colleagues who reached a milestone (20, 30, 40 or 50 years) working for Lancashire Teaching Hospitals during 2025 - testament to their enduring commitment to delivering excellent care with compassion.

Silas Nicholls, Chief Executive, praised the evening as “a fantastic opportunity to celebrate everything we do as an organisation."

He said, "Every year, you and your colleagues see hundreds of thousands of patients; we perform tens of thousands of operations, we deliver thousands of healthy babies, and fundamentally, we save lives, change lives, and we look after people. Thank you all.

Silas also took the opportunity to thank the sponsors who helped make the awards possible including Capsticks LLP, FWP Architects and the Trust’s own TED Engagement Tool.

A raffle held on the evening also raised a fantastic £2,306 for the Trust’s charities, and the proceeds of the raffle will be used to directly improve patient care across the Trust’s hospitals at Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley and South Ribble Hospital.
