We are thrilled to launch a new partnership between the Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance Cancer Academy, and the Rosemere Cancer Education Hub at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals!
Together, we are committed to advancing cancer education and training by empowering healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge to deliver outstanding care across our regions.
A group of clinicians and stakeholders from the region, including representatives from community and secondary care, alongside the team at the Rosemere Cancer Education Hub, explored the development of a local Cancer Academy. After careful consideration, it became clear that much of the work was already underway by Cheshire and Mersey’s Cancer Academy.
Following discussions with Cheshire and Mersey, and with their agreement, we have formalised a collaboration to allow all staff across Lancashire and South Cumbria to access their comprehensive Cancer Academy resources. This approach avoids duplication and ensures access to high-quality, established cancer education programmes.
Staff across all care settings, including primary care, are encouraged to sign up and benefit from the Cancer Academy. To support this, we will be coordinating communications across multiple platforms, including monthly bulletins, social media channels, and the academy website, where a clear message will highlight the nature of this collaboration.

We look forward to working together to provide accessible, high-quality cancer education that supports our healthcare workforce and ultimately improves patient care across the region.
