Apprentices, interns and work experience
In 2016, our hospitals took on hundreds of apprentices throughout our organisation. As part of their work, our apprentices get to gain practical experience whilst working towards an invaluable qualification- putting them in a prime spot for starting a full time career, either within our hospitals or elsewhere. We have had fantastic success with our apprentices and provide them with brilliant resources to learn and develop as part of our Health Academy.
As of last year, our hospitals started taking on graduate interns. A brilliant way to start earning and working after university, our internships have got off to a fantastic start, with some of our interns now in full-time roles.
To view our current apprenticeship and intern vacancies, please visit our jobs website.
For school pupils, we offer work experience placements in non-clinical environments, helping us to grow our healthcare workforce for the future and providing students with the opportunity to explore their interests and hit the ground running with their fledgling careers. If you wish to apply for a work placement please contact the Work Experience team by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We also offer observational work placements for adults within our clinical services in some cases, email Work Experience to find out what's available to you.
*Please note: demand for placements greatly exceeds capacity, especially during the summer holidays, so applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis. Placements will only be allocated to people who live in the Chorley or Preston areas. Six weeks notice is required for all applications*
