Seven Day Service

NHS England’s strategy Everyone Counts : Planning for Patients 2013/14, says the NHS will move towards routine services being available seven days a week.

Speaking at a national event in London, "Delivering NHS Services, Seven Days A Week", held on 22nd July 2014, Sir Bruce Keogh, NHS England's national clinical director told delegates that the provision of seven day services across the NHS is his "number one priority".

We are pleased to be working with local health and social care organisations as one of 13 early adopter sites in the country to pilot seven day services.  This national pilot, co-ordinated by NHS Improving Quality and involving NHS England, and the Royal Colleges, will inform the three to five year transformational  Seven Day Service Improvement Programme.

We are hosting a stakeholder event on 29 September 2014 to discuss what the health and social care organisations in Lancashire need to do to achieve a seven day service.  Join in the debate on Twitter #7DayService
