Career history: Graduated from Manchester Medical School in 2001, and after completion of basic surgical training commenced Specialist Registrar training in General Surgery on the North-west rotation in 2005.
During higher surgical training, two years were taken out of programme to complete a period of clinical research into pelvic floor disorders and faecal incontinence. This resulted in the award of MD in 2010, and the publication of numerous papers, abstracts and national presentations.
After completion of colorectal sub specialty training and the awarding of CCT in 2013, a fellowship was undertaken at St James Hospital Leeds. This high volume unit provided advanced training not only in laparoscopic surgery, but also in locally advanced and recurrent rectal cancer.

Completed MD in 2010, Current PI on National trials (Foxtrot, Add Aspirin, HiP), written book chapters and published numerous articles and abstracts.
