Prestigious position to improve support for physiotherapy students

A member of staff at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been appointed into a prestigious, national position.

Rachael Moses, Consultant Respiratory Physiotherapist at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, has been appointed as the Honorary President for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Student Reference Group for a two year period.

The role of the Honorary President is to act in an advisory capacity and to provide support and guidance in selecting members to sit on the group for the following academic year.

A main aspect of this honorary role would be to assist the current sitting group with the application process for the following year group. This will involve assisting in the blind shortlisting of applications and guiding the informal virtual based interviews.

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy is the professional, educational and trade union body for the UK’s 58,000 chartered physiotherapists. physiotherapy students and support workers. The Student Reference Group is a group of student and student associate members that ensures that the student voice is accounted for in all aspects of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Rachael said: “I am so honoured to even be asked to do this. I genuinely care about the future of our profession and the impact that we have on the NHS. I hope I do the team proud and can’t wait to start working with the team to improve the support available to our physiotherapy students to help them to make a big impact in their careers.”
