A new competition to name and win handmade doll is underway to raise much-needed funds for local charity, Baby Beat.
Baby Beat, founded in 1987, supports mothers and babies being cared for in the maternity units at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
Judy Quinn from Farington recently raised £120 for Baby Beat by auctioning a beautiful handmade NHS scrubs-wearing rag doll. Judy has since donated another doll to Baby Beat, who are now giving you the chance to win it.
Baby Beat’s Cathy Skidmore said: “This is a fabulous opportunity to win a wonderful doll to keep or give as a gift, knowing it has been lovingly made for a good cause. We’d like to say a huge thank you to Judy for such a generous donation and for giving us a second doll – you’re a superstar Judy! We can’t wait to see some entries, and we are grateful to everyone who enters as all funds make a big difference to the mums and babies on our neonatal units.”
Anyone can enter by going to donating £2 and suggesting a name of their choice for the doll. All funds raised will go to Baby Beat, and the winner will be drawn at random from the Baby Beat tombola drum, live on Sunday 5th July – the birthday of the NHS.
