Keeping Birth Normal
Keeping Birth Normal is a free ante-natal course . The courses are designed for mums-to-be (whether with their first child or if they have had children before), dads, carers and grandparents. The courses are run by the Health Visitor, Midwife and the Children’s Centre staff who offer advice and information to help you and your family prepare for the birth of your baby and parenthood.
The course will cover:
- Labour and birth
- What equipment you might need for your new baby
- Changes to your routine
- Feeding your new baby
- Baby’s development
- Keeping baby safe
What is a Children’s Centre?
Children’s Centres offer services and activities for families with young children. Children’s Centres offer services such as antenatal sessions, baby massage courses, parent and child groups, home visits as well as advice and information on benefits, training and childcare. See overleaf for Children’s Centres across the area. To book on a Keeping Birth Normal course pop in to your nearest Children’s Centre or give them a call.

We would like to invite you to attend a specialist breastfeeding workshop at the hospital. To book a place please contact the hospital on 01772 524235 after 5pm.

Individual tours can also be arranged on a one to one basis by contacting the area you would like to visit on the day you would like to visit.
To book on a Keeping Birth Normal course pop in to a Children’s Centre or just give them a call. They will ask you your due date and then will tell you the details of courses running near you. Once you have booked on a course the centre will send you confirmation and full course details through the post.
