Infection prevention and control

Infection prevention and control is fundamental to the provision of safe and effective care.  In recent years we have invested significantly in infection prevention and control measures, including a dedicated team, training, policy development, equipment and devices, screening programmes and laboratory facilities.

Patients who are admitted for planned treatment and as emergencies are now screened for MRSA as standard.  This enables us to provide prompt treatment and prevent infection spreading.

As a result of these actions we have virtually eliminated hospital acquired MRSA and other infections.
