Career History: Following her specialist ophthalmology training from Merseyside, she completed her post CCT fellowship from Manchester Royal Eye hospital in Glaucoma
Currently, she provides specialist glaucoma services which includes outpatient clinics and operating sessions. She performs complex cataract surgeries, lasers, glaucoma surgeries ( Trabeculectomies, Aqueous Shunt implantation) and minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS). Since her appointment in 2017, she has actively redesigned the glaucoma service by facilitating the expansion of the role of Non-Medical Practitioners for glaucoma shared care and service delivery in ophthalmology.
Mrs Madgula was the Trainee representative for the Sustainability in Ophthalmology Working Group of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London. She was the first trainee to be appointed to the panel of examiners by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and has worked as a GMC PLAB examiner. She has completed NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Work Based Support and Mentoring – Accredited through the Qualifications and credit framework (QCF) run by Warrington Collegiate, Medical Leadership Module from Edge Hill University and the Consultant Leadership Module from Liverpool John Moores University. She takes a keen interest in teaching medical students, senior trainees and Allied health professionals.
She was previously a co-investigator in a multi-center, randomized controlled trial and has 9 publications in peer reviewed indexed journals. She has presented numerous posters in national and international conferences.
