Equality And Diversity Schemes

We aim to provide patient centred services based on clinical excellence, timeliness and appropriateness. As a Trust we remain committed to embedding equality and diversity in all that we do and this commitment is supported by the Trust’s vision.

As an organisation we are committed to delivering a health service where everyone embraces equality and diversity and we will take every opportunity to strengthen our approach to equality and diversity in the design, delivery and review of all our functions, policies and practices.

The Trust recognises the Government’s decision to formulate a new statutory body (the Commission on Equality and Human Rights) and its intention to tackle discrimination and promote equality on the grounds of race, disability, age, sexual orientation, religion or belief and gender. The Trust wishes to include all of the relevant groups within this scheme in order to demonstrate its commitment, and begin its work of promoting equality throughout the organisation for all.

This Equality Scheme is not only a way of satisfying our legal responsibilities under the relevant legislation, it is a strategic framework of standards that will be applied across the organisation to ensure that we meet our aims of delivering high quality and accessible healthcare to all sections of the community.
