Television
There is a TV in the day room of some wards. Patientline is also installed in most wards. This is a bedside pay as you view television and telephone service, which offers:
- 16 TV channels
- Incoming and outgoing telephone calls at the bedside
- 24 hour radio
- Internet access in some areas
- Free calls to hospital radio, PALS and Pastoral Care
- Free information film on channel 32
Information on Patientline is provided on the card attached to your TV, which gives details on payment options and tariffs etc.
Radio in hospital is available via Patientline units.
Telephones
You can make and receive phone calls at your bedside via the Patientline system. To make calls you will need to register on the system and purchase a smart card. Alternatively, pay phones are provided in most ward areas and there are further public telephones located around the hospital.
Mobile phones
It is strictly forbidden to use mobile phones in clinical areas. Their frequency can interfere with essential hospital equipment such as heart monitors etc. Please make sure that your mobile phone is switched off before you enter the hospital and remember to inform visitors.
