Lancashire Teaching Hospitals

Disabilities

We are committed to making our hospitals accessible to all and are constantly working to improve our services and facilities wherever possible.

We have recently been working with Disabled Go to produce a  detailed online access guide to our facilities to better enable disabled people to access services.

Hearing difficulties

If you wear a hearing aid or have hearing difficulties, please tell the nurses and doctors looking after you how best they should communicate with you.  Some wards and departments have listening devices on loan or have a loop system installed for use with hearing aids for watching television.

The Trust can arrange for a trained signer to translate if you need help when you speak to doctors and nurses.  The Trust also uses a web-based sign language communication programme.
