The Trust is committed to tackling and reducing healthcare associated infection and has introduced MRSA Screening for all elective and non-elective patients. From April 2009 patients will be screened in line with Department of Health Guidance (2008) and as outlined in the Trust MRSA Screening Policy.
The Trust has allocated additional resources to support this development and arrangements are in place to monitor compliance.
The MRSA screening programme is just one of a wide range of infection prevention and control measures aimed at providing a safe, clean environment for patients and maintaining the highest possible standards of hygiene and professional practice.
