Lancashire Teaching Hospitals

Customer service excellence award for Lancashire Teaching Hospitals

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals has been awarded the government’s Customer Service Excellence Standard Award for its hotel services.  The award is in recognition of the high standard of services the trust provides across a range of areas, including domestic services, catering, porters, transport, security, and linen services.

The trust was assessed on a number of areas, including engagement and consultation with customers, customer satisfaction and staff professionalism and attitude.

Director of Facilities, Miles Timperley, said: “This award is a great recognition for the hotel services staff. The whole team works hard to meet the high expectations people have when they come into our hospitals, as patients or visitors.“

Karen Partington, Chief Executive, will be presenting the award certificate to hotel services staff on Friday.  She said:”I am delighted that we have received this award.  Although the hotel services team is not directly involved with patient care, the services they provide are a key part of providing an excellent patient and visitor experience.”

The hotel services team has around 700 staff across the trust, and is responsible for a budget of £13.2M.
