Equality Impact Assessments

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust recognises the need to embed the principles and practices of Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) enabling patients, relatives and the local population to be involved in decision making about care provision and service delivery. In order to do this the Trust recognises the need to develop it’s leaders, managers and staff to foster a culture of engaging and consulting with patients to identify their needs.

Involvement is ensuring patients, relatives and the local population are empowered to have a real influence surrounding the services offered by the Trust and the quality healthcare they expect to receive.

We aim to provide patient centred services based on clinical excellence, timeliness and appropriateness. As a Trust we are committed to embedding equality and diversity in all that we do and this commitment is support by the Trust’s vision.

As an organisation we are committed to delivering a health service where everyone embraces equality and diversity and we will take every opportunity to strengthen our approach to this in the design, delivery and review of all our functions, policies and practices.
